The passing of the evening

It's the passing of the evening
all around and out about the avenue
and i feel as though i'm losing
touch with all the souls i've known so long
am i really going crazy, or hazy
everything and everywhere is changing
newness of philosophies
tell me that you're still there for me
 
took a walk through the garden
caught myself retaining all the memories
and you know it's never likely, or like me
to wish that it was any time but now
i was finding feathers from you
every time i think it's of you
 
as i stand here now
where i stood before
heard the silent shout
and it's so familiar
spoken without words
and here you are
 
i was thinking and rethinking
wrote down every word i could remember
when i finally saw the morning
the yearning
was every bit as strong as you had told me
i will spend the sunrise with you
i will sit in silence for you
 
as i stand here now
and the evening passes
where i stood before
