A diver in the back row
She drowns in the background noise
The ghost of a hundred and one sins that
she has caused
Fireworks and hero's
to the stroke of a New Year, wall to wall
A million more faces that she's never seen before
She drinks to the man, sinks to the sand

She says, Í'll see you at the fishbowl
looking for a lost god

She picks up her shoes
and walks down through the parked cars
Watches for the sharp stones
daggers on the dark road where she leaves from
