Are we on a runaway train? She yells with breif disdain.
Slamming into everyone and everything around, leaving nothing good in it’s wake.
The phone calls and the stress, messages and texts.
Entertaining possibility of escalated hostility, should we just call it quits.

Can we forget the past or have we fought through to the last?
We will never be the same again, so maybe we should both just move on.
You can never have it both ways now.

Leaving out the longest goodbye and all the tears go uncried.
Facing seperate and immediate change, we both go our seperate ways.
A stiff drink with your friends, assurances it’s for the best.
But words can’t erase all the time that we waste and this is good night and goodbye. Can we forget the past or have we fought through to the last?
